Due to 5 years of sickness and full sick leave from August 2017, the director and co-founder of Refugee Alliance / Brave Heart, Sina Saltbones, has informed the board that she wishes to step down as leader of the organization from March 1st of 2018.
Sina has been a brave, inspiring, perseverant, dedicated and outstanding leader, who has impacted a lot of people. It has been unreal to think of Brave Heart without her leading the ministry. But due to her health condition, she is now passing on the leadership to a leader trio consisting of co-founder Stephen Kaumba, chairman of the board Sveinung Henden and CEO Ingjerd Benestad Sand. The work will continue and the vision will live on. The new leader trio is ready and motivated to take on the responsibility of leading Brave Heart.
Sina steps down as director of Brave Heart, but will continue to co pastor Brave Heart Mission Church in Kristiansand and in her role as co-founder she is permanent part of the board and will keep inspiring as much as health allows.
All staff in Brave Heart were informed of this change of leadership in the middle of December. In the next few weeks, Sina will be going to Uganda and Zambia to meet with the staff there and take farewell as director. In March Brave Heart will organize a public event where Sina is thanked and the new leadership officially is dedicated and prayed for. More info will follow.
